Teen Fitness University

Teens ages 12-14 can become a fitness member when they successfully complete a training program with a nationally certified personal trainer through Fort Hill's Teen Fitness University program(TFU). This personalized training program includes two, one-hour sessions (1-on-1 with the assigned personal trainer) focused on proper warm-up, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, cool down, nutrition, and fitness etiquette, including using safe and correct form while working out.

Once the sessions are completed, the teen will understand how to use all the machines in our facility, appropriate weights to use as they get started, and how to use safe and proper form.

Teens ages 12-13 will focus on working with cardiovascular and resistance machines. Once they complete TFU,  they may use cardiovascular and resistance machines only.

Teens 14 years of age will focus on cardiovascular and resistance machines including free weight training. Once they complete TFU, they will be allowed in the free weight area.

Once teens are certified they may purchase a Fort Hill Fitness membership, before they turn age 15! Participants who successfully complete Teen Fitness University also will have their enrollment fee waived if they sign up within 30-days of completing the program.

Please stop by the main service desk at Fort Hill to complete the Teen Fitness University packet and get your child registered.   Once completed, a personal trainer will call you to get the TFU sessions scheduled.
