Naperville Park District Parks System Overview

Beautiful parks, open space and recreation are essential to the quality of life in Naperville. The Park District has 2,400+ acres of land with 136 parks of varying sizes and types under its jurisdiction.

Park Hours
The majority of the District’s parks are open from sunrise to one hour after sunset. However, larger scale parks including Sports Complexes and Special Use Facilities (e.g., golf courses) have different hours based on the activities that take place.

Playgrounds & Trails
The Naperville Park District has 73 playgrounds located across the community featuring a variety of amenities designed for children of varying ages. The Naperville community also has 70+ miles of trails that safely connect residents to places across the community via walking or biking in addition to loop trails at some park locations. Please note that biking is not allowed on the Naperville Riverwalk.

Dogs in the Parks
Dogs are welcome in our parks, but we encourage you to be a doggone good neighbor and clean up after your pet. Please dispose of pet waste properly. Pet excrement can be harmful to people and the environment.  Dogs also must be leashed for their safety and the safety of others. Violators will be prosecuted per Ordinance #641.
