Most Park District facilities closed Thurs./Fri., programs cancelled due to weather

Due to the forecasted extreme cold temperatures, all Naperville Park District programs scheduled after 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 22nd and all day on Friday, December 23rd are cancelled. Additionally, all Park District offices and facilities will be closed to the public with the exception of Fort Hill Activity Center (20 Fort Hill Drive), which will remain open as a warming center. Fort Hill also will be available for drop-in use by fitness members and those who wish to use the walk/jog track; group exercise programs, open gyms and childcare will not be available. Fort Hill's hours on Fri., Dec. 23rd will be modified to 9:00 am-6:00 pm.
Sportsman's Park will not be open for trapshooting on Thursday, Dec. 22nd as typically scheduled.
Naperville Park District reminds residents of its winter weather procedures and to check the District's weather cancellations webpage for program cancellations and facility closures.
Additionally, please note that Park District staff will clear snow from parking lots and walkways according to the procedures and priorities listed at www.napervilleparks.org/snowclearing. Generally, the District's snow clearing scope includes the following:
. Sidewalks near schools where Park District programs are held in addition to some sidewalks within school zones to ensure that residents have a cleared path to/from their neighborhood's school.
Sidewalks adjacent to Park District facilities that are open for use
In areas with Park District land on either side of a street, our staff will clear sidewalks on one of the sides
Trails/paths located in select parks across the community (clearing of trails occurs after the primary routes are completed)
