Several Park District Public Restrooms Closed for the Winter

Tuesday, December 3, 2024

Park restroom availability is understandably a topic of interest for frequent park visitors. As a result, the Park District wishes to inform residents that as the winter season approaches and the temperatures begin to drop, several public restrooms located in Naperville parks have been winterized and closed for the season. The restroom facilities that close for winter are not heated, however, there are many park facilities that do have restroom facilities that operate year-round. Winterization of non-heated restrooms begins in early November and facilities typically reopen mid-March, weather permitting.

Restroom facilities will be closed at the following locations:

  • Nike Sports Complex (ballfield hub)
  • Knoch Park (south restroom building)
  • Pioneer Park
  • DuPage River Sports Complex
  • DuPage River Park
  • Meadow Glens
  • 95th Street Community Plaza
  • Frontier Sports Complex (west playground, ballfield hub, and pickleball courts)
  • Commissioners Park (support building)
  • Wolf’s Crossing Community Park (family restrooms)

Signage indicating that the restroom is closed for the season is installed at each location.

The following restroom facilities are available to the public year-round:

  • Nike Sports Complex (playground)
  • Seager Park
  • Riverwalk (Fredenhagen Park, Paddleboat Quarry Rentals, Warming Shelter)
  • Knoch Park (Central Maintenance Facility)
  • Central Park
  • Commissioners Park (west of synthetic turf field)
  • Knoch Knolls Nature Center
  • Wolf’s Crossing Community Park (men’s/women’s)
