Quotes from the Episode:

How do people discover what healthy habits work best for them?

I feel when people begin to explore their options, they have a tendency to Google a lot, and they make it far more complex than what it really is. You start simple. You don’t make your goals unattainable. “Today, I’m going to go for a mile walk and do 10 sit-ups.” It might start like that so let it be that. As you go forward, it gets easier. Your body feels it and your mind feels it. – Kim Monti

One of the big things people have to think about when starting an exercise program, they have to already know what they like to do. If you already know what you like to begin with, that gives you a base to know where to start. Don’t start too big. Start little and go from there. – Heather Grier

How do you maintain the motivational spirit and balance a healthy lifestyle with everyday life?

It’s a slow process. You show up. You don’t start up to fit in those pants, you show up to feel better. You keep those goals small. It sounds so cliché, but it is a journey. Exercise is medicine. – Kim Monti

Why is it possible for anyone to begin their healthy journey at any age?

That’s the way it should be! You should be able to start a workout routine whether you’re 85 or 15 years old. There’s a place for everyone. There’s a class for everyone and a way to work out no matter what. I love seeing kids starting so young and having an interest in it because I hope it carries into their adult life. – Heather Grier
