Paddleboat Quarry Opening Kicks Off the Summer Season on May 9

On Saturday, May 9, the Paddleboat Quarry, located at 441 Aurora Avenue, opens to the public and signals the beginning of the 2026 summer season. The quarry will be open weekends only from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. until Memorial Day weekend when daily hours for the Park District’s aquatic recreation facilities, including Centennial Beach and its two splash pads, begin.

The Paddleboat Quarry is located on the Riverwalk adjacent to Rotary Hill. Centennial Beach is the community’s unique and historic swimming facility, located at 500 W. Jackson Avenue. Visitors can experience a beach day in the heart of Downtown Naperville and enjoy diving boards, shallow-end slide, bag toss area, swimming and more. The District’s two splash pads are located at Wolf’s Crossing Community Park, 3252 Wolf’s Crossing Road, and the 95th Street Community Plaza at Frontier Sports Complex, at 3109 Cedar Glade Drive. Splash pads are free to use, but available on a first-come, first-served basis. Facilities are open daily from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

The Paddleboat Quarry offers paddleboats, paddleboards and kayaks for rental. Paddleboats can accommodate up to four people and kayaks include one-person or two-person rentals. Please note – only paddleboats will be available opening weekend. Patrons will be able to rent paddleboards and kayaks later this season. Centennial Beach has a full lineup of aquatic programs scheduled for the summer including youth and adult swim lessons, Mudrats Swim Team, and fitness programs like Beachside Yoga and Paddleboard Yoga. Additionally, Special Needs Nights, planned this season for June 14, 28 and July 19, are offered to families with individuals who have specials needs looking to enjoy a quiet, relaxing evening at Centennial Beach after regular operating hours.

Beach memberships for the 2026 season are available for purchase at www.napervilleparks.org/beachmemberships; memberships are available at a discounted rate through May 25. Membership benefits include early entry on weekdays, coupons for Park District amenities, 10% discount at the Centennial Grill and two guest passes.
