Naperville Running Company Supports Snow Removal on Naperville Park District Trail

Monday, December 2, 2024

Naperville Park District is pleased to announce that a partnership with Naperville Running Company will continue this winter for the tenth consecutive year to support snow removal on a two-mile trail in south Naperville. The trail extends from the Route 59 bridge through Frontier Sports Complex, Ashbury Park and Ashbury Greenway to Plainfield-Naperville Road. Under the agreement, the Park District will clear the trail after a snowfall of two or more inches and Naperville Running Company will reimburse the Park District for labor and materials.

“We are happy to have worked with Naperville Running Company each winter for the past decade,” said Executive Director Brad Wilson. “The agreement with them is a great example of a successful partnership that benefits the community.”

“There are so many reasons to not get out the door for a run or walk in the winter, including the temperature and the conditions,” said Marisa Hird, Director of Culture at the Naperville Running Company. “We are grateful to partner with the Naperville Park District to keep the path clear so our community can continue to enjoy staying active outside, no matter the conditions. With clear trails and the right gear, we promise it's not so bad!”

Other trails that are maintained year-round by Naperville Park District with snow removal as needed include the Riverwalk, the DuPage River Trail between Burr Oak Park and DuPage River Park, and the trails at Commissioners Park, Country Lakes Park, Meadow Glens, Nike Sports Complex, Wil-O-Way Commons, Wildflower Park and Wolf’s Crossing Community Park.
