Naperville Park District to Host Public Open Houses to Update ADA Transition Plan
Tuesday, March 11, 2025
The Naperville Park District invites the community to share their thoughts regarding accessibility across the District at public open house events scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Fort Hill Activity Center, located at 20 Fort Hill Drive. The feedback gathered during the events will assist the Park District in updating its ADA Transition Plan (ATP).
As part of the Naperville Park District’s initiative to update its ATP for existing parks and facilities, the District is seeking input from residents and community organizations regarding ADA accessibility organization wide. The main purpose of the ATP is to ensure that accessibility issues are being identified and addressed across the organization and throughout the park system. The project team and staff will be available to answer questions as well as receive comments and ideas regarding the ATP.
The ATP is reviewed and revised periodically. As the plan was last reviewed and revised in 2014, it is time for the Park District to update it. For residents who would like to provide input on accessibility across the District but are unable to attend any of the in-person open house events, the Naperville Park District will provide the ability for residents to leave their feedback via the District’s website at a later date. Additional background information on the ADA Transition Plan and this initiative can be found at www.napervilleparks.org/ada.
