Naperville Park District to Celebrate Newly Renovated Playgrounds at Kroehler Park and West Greens

Monday, May 11, 2026

The Naperville Park District invites the community to celebrate the reopening of the newly renovated playgrounds at Kroehler Park and West Greens on Tuesday, June 2. The first ribbon-cutting event will be held at Kroehler Park, located at 507 E 5th Avenue, at 4:30 p.m. followed by the ribbon-cutting at West Greens, located at 711 Stevens Street, at 5:00 p.m.

Renovations at both parks include replaced playground equipment and site furniture such as tables, benches and picnic shelters. At Kroehler Park, new equipment includes a double-arch ramp to a slide and climbers as well as a new multi-user basket swing. The renovated playground at West Greens features a Zoomtwist net spinner, a multi-user basket swing and activity panels with drums and chimes.

Funding for both projects were provided, in part, by a DCEO grant directed by Illinois State Representative Janet Yang Rohr. The Naperville Park District is grateful for Representative Yang Rohr’s support of the Park District as these amenities are fundamental to residents’ enjoyment of recreation.

Following each ribbon-cutting ceremony, children are welcome to explore the playground’s new features and enjoy light refreshments provided by the Park District. In the event of inclement weather, the events will need to be rescheduled. Residents can check for the latest updates on the Cancellations and Closures tab at www.napervilleparks.org/cancellations
