Naperville Park District Seeking Residents to Participate in Focus Groups Regarding Indoor Recreation Space

Tuesday, March 5, 2024

The Naperville Park District is conducting a needs assessment for indoor recreation space in 2024. The goal of this project is to develop a detailed plan based on community need for and support of additional indoor recreation amenities. The resulting plan will help guide park board commissioners and staff in determining the agency's direction.

Since resident input will be the cornerstone of the plan, the development of the Indoor Space Needs Assessment will rely on resident feedback obtained through focus groups, a community survey and open house events.

The first feedback opportunity includes a series of focus groups scheduled to be held on Wed., March 20 and Wed., April 3. As space is limited, residents who would like to be considered to participate in one of the focus group events need to complete a short survey to be placed on the interest list. To do so, visit www.napervilleparks.org/indoorrecreationspaceneedsassessment and click on the button labeled "Sign up for the focus group interest list." The deadline to complete the online interest form is Monday, March 11; those selected to participate will be contacted by Thursday, March 14 to confirm their attendance at one of the sessions.

"The upcoming focus groups will provide residents with the opportunity to share their feedback based on their experiences with the Park District, their first-hand knowledge of indoor space challenges, and provide their ideas and opinions about the future of our organization's indoor space," explained Executive Director Brad Wilson. "We look forward to having conversations with our community not only in the focus groups, but also throughout the course of the project. Ultimately, the indoor space needs assessment will help us continue to serve the diverse and still-growing recreation needs of our community."
