Naperville Park District to Host IPRA’s Park Pursuit on May 4
Monday, April 24, 2023
On Thursday, May 4, 2023 the Naperville Park District will host Park Pursuit--an annual fun, competitive event for park and recreation professionals organized by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA). Approximately 300 participants wearing yellow event t-shirts will be running through some of the parks in the downtown Naperville area from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Additionally, 40 others in orange t-shirts will be serving as volunteers. Naperville Park District wants to inform the community of this activity, so that park visitors are aware that this is a planned event. This is the first time that the Naperville Park District has hosted the Pursuit; past locations include Chicago, Elmhurst, Skokie, Rosemont and South Elgin.
The course will take participants by foot through different locations in parks in the downtown area and at each stop there will be activities that teams will have to complete before they can get the clue to move to the next stop.
"We are excited to host this fun event, where recreation professionals from across the state are able to enjoy fun competition and team building," said Superintendent of Recreation Jackie Gonzalez. "This is the first year that the event has sold out. We are proud to be able to plan this event in some of our beautiful parks for so many of our colleagues from other communities."
