Glen Ekey Senior Amateur Championship Held at Springbrook and Naperbrook

Local golfers ages 55 and older gathered at Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses on Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21 to compete at the 2025 Glen Ekey Senior Amateur Championship. This event is a continuation of the 2025 Brooks Tournament Series, presented by Woody Buick GMC. The tournament split all 110 golfers into two divisions; golfers age 55-69 were in the Senior Division and individuals age 70 and older were in the Legends division. Each division named a champion based on their gross score and net score.

Paul Giersz from Glendale Heights was crowned the 2025 Glen Ekey Senior Amateur Champion after finishing with a gross score of 142. The Net Champion of the Senior Division was Raghu Ramanathan from Naperville, who finished with a two-day net score of 139. In the Legends Division, Dean Richesin from Naperville won the title of Gross Champion with a gross score of 149. Bill Welter from Plainfield was the Net Champion of the division with a net score of 137.

“Over five inches of rain earlier in the week threatened tournament play at Springbrook, but the grounds crew did an amazing job to prepare the course with minor intrusions,” said Naperbrook Head Golf Professional Joel Wallin. “The sun was out and it was beautiful both tournament days.”
