DuPage River Shoreline Stabilization Along the Riverwalk – August 2023 Pre-Project Work

Thursday, August 10, 2023

The Naperville Park District is in the process of removing some of the shrubs and undergrowth near the edge of the DuPage River along the west end of the Riverwalk. This work is necessary for an upcoming survey of the riverbank to determine the extent of erosion and where stabilization is needed. Engineering Resource Associates, a civil engineering firm, will be conducting the survey the week of August 14, 2023. The results of the survey will assist the Park District in planning a streambank stabilization project that is planned to take place in 2024.

Streambank stabilization is part of the Naperville Park District's stewardship of natural areas. To learn more about the District's work to care for natural areas, visit https://www.napervilleparks.org/restorationprojects.
