Friday, May 9, 2025
Four members of the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners took the oath of office during the May 8th meeting at Fort Hill Activity Center. New board member Aishwarya Balakrishna and incumbents Leslie Ruffing, Rhonda Ansier, and Alison Thompson were elected to office during the April 1, 2025 consolidated election; each will serve a four-year term as park commissioner. Judge Colette Safford of the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Will County administered the oath of office.
Commissioner Balakrishna is the first Indian American elected to the Park Board of Commissioners as well as the youngest member to take the office. She and the other three newly-elected board members join Commissioners Chris Jacks, Rich Janor and John Risvold – all of whom are serving four-year terms which expire in 2027.
