Children’s Book Drive at Fort Hill Activity Center through November 30

In partnership with Bernie's Book Bank, Naperville Park District is hosting a children's book drive at Fort Hill Activity Center through November 30, 2023. Naperville area residents are invited to drop off new or gently used books for children, ranging from birth to sixth grade, excluding workbooks, textbooks or reference material.

Books may be dropped off anytime during operating hours at Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive, which are: Monday-Friday, 5:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., Saturday, 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Sunday, 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Bernie's Book Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children in need with books of their own. According to research findings quoted on the organization's website, 61% of low-income families have no books at all in their homes for their children. By putting age-appropriate books in children's hands, Bernie's Book Bank aims to empower children to explore new ideas, gain knowledge and strengthen their reading skills.
