Nike Sports Complex Site Improvements
The Naperville Park District will be submitting an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development grant submission for consideration for site improvements at Nike Sports Complex. The District conducted multiple resident outreach initiatives during the summer of 2024 and identified various opportunities to add, expand, and update recreational amenities at the site. The planned amenity improvements can be seen below in the concept plans for the Nike Sports Complex Site Master Plan and the Playground and Water Play Enlargement Plan. Construction for the site improvements is anticipated to take place throughout 2025 and 2026. Future project updates will be posted here as more information becomes available.

Upcoming Improvements/Construction
The Naperville Park District conducted a virtual community outreach initiative to inform residents about improvements proposed for 2025 and 2026. The letter below outlined improvements proposed at Nike Sports Complex.
The Park District plans to implement extensive site improvements throughout 2025 and 2026 including new native planting areas, converting the infields to synthetic turf at ballfields 1, 2, and 3, a challenge course, a new asphalt loop trail, a renovated playground, new water play features, and a new picnic shelter overlooking the existing cricket pitch. For the playground renovation, the equipment will be fully replaced, and the play surface will be replaced with poured-in-place rubber surfacing. The Park District asked interested residents to help select new playground equipment, water play features, and challenge course equipment in June 2024 at a Public Open House event held for development of the Nike Sports Complex Site Master Plan.
Any questions regarding the work proposed for 2025 and 2026 can be directed to Allan Barajas at Abarajas@napervilleparks.org.
