Fishing
All state fishing regulations apply; individuals between ages 16-65 need a valid fishing license, (15 and under do not need a license) which can be purchased through Illinois Department of Natural Resources or at local retail outlets. Naperville Park District’s rules for fishing can be found in Section 2.19 of Ordinance 641. Fishing is also available on the banks of the DuPage River. Upcoming Improvements/Construction
The Naperville Park District conducted a virtual community outreach initiative to inform residents about improvements proposed for 2025. The letter below outlined a project proposed at Hunters Woods.
The shoreline of the creek running through Stanford Meadows was stabilized in 2023 and 2024. In 2025 the shoreline restoration will focus on the section from the bend in the creek where work stopped in 2023 to the retention basin at Hunters Woods. This is the final phase of shoreline restoration work planned for the area. Similar to the other sections of the creek, invasive plant material, including trees, will be removed. Additionally, the slopes will be stabilized, and native vegetation planted to anchor the shoreline soil in place.
Any questions regarding the work proposed for 2025 can be directed to Peggy Motta at Pmotta@napervilleparks.org.
