The Naperville Park District is partnering with Accelerate Climate Solutions to keep your unwanted sports equipment out of the landfill. Drop off your gently-used sports equipment during one of the collection dates above and receive a credit towards items available at the swap/sale event!
Donations/drop-offs are not required to attend the swap/sale event. Collections will occur in the Fort Hill Activity Center lobby and the swap/sale event will be located in multipurpose rooms 1–3.

What is the Great Sport Swap?
The Naperville Park District is partnering with Accelerate Climate Solutions to keep your unwanted sports equipment out of the landfill. Drop off your gently used sports equipment during one of the collection dates and receive a voucher that can be used toward items available at the event!
When and where can I donate items to swap?
- Items will be accepted Monday–Wednesday, March 16–18 from 8:00–11:00 am & 4:00–7:00 pm, and Thursday, March 19 from 8:00–11:00 am.
- Collection will take place at Fort Hill Activity Center (20 Fort Hill Dr.) in the lobby.
What items are accepted?
- See the table above for a full list of accepted items and the voucher value/sale price.
- Accelerate Climate Solutions and the Naperville Park District reserve the right to refuse donations that are not listed on the accepted items list or that do not meet condition standards, and vouchers will not be issued.
- Donated items should be clean and gently used. Please do not donate items that you would not buy yourself.
What do I receive when I donate items to swap?
Individuals dropping off items to swap will receive a voucher. The amount of the voucher will vary based on the items dropped off. Recipients will be able to use the voucher to “swap” for items at the sale. Vouchers are issued based on the type of item, regardless of the original purchase price.
Can I just donate items and not receive a voucher to swap?
Yes, individuals may drop off items for donation only.
When and where is the sale?
- Friday, March 20 from 8:00–11:00 am & 4:00–6:00 pm.
- The sale will take place at Fort Hill Activity Center (20 Fort Hill Dr.) in multipurpose rooms 1–3.
Will you still be collecting donation items on the day of the sale?
No, items will only be accepted during the advertised collection dates and times; therefore, no vouchers will be issued on the day of the sale.
Do I have to donate items to shop the sale?
No, you can shop the sale without donating items.
What types of payment are accepted at the sale?
Vouchers, cash, and credit cards will be accepted as forms of payment at the sale.
What if I lose my voucher?
Misplaced vouchers will not be replaced. Vouchers must be presented at checkout during the sale.
What if I do not find enough items to purchase that are the same value as my voucher?
Change is not given for vouchers where the total exceeds the value of the items. For example, if an individual has a $10 voucher and “swap” it for a $5 item, the individual does not get $5 back.
Can I save my voucher and use it at the next sale?
No, vouchers are only to be used during the sale on March 20 and cannot be carried over to future sales.
