Join a naturalist to learn about the elusive American Woodcock!
Migrating back to Illinois even when there may still be snow on the ground, the male woodcock's unique courtship display includes a nasal beeping call on the ground combined with a spiral aerial display.
- After a brief presentation, go on a hike to look and listen for breeding woodcocks.
- Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather
- Program may be held completely outdoors.
- Please leave pets at home.
