Naperville Park District staff members celebrate graduation from Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce program
First Leadership Institute concludes with graduation ceremony to honor participants
Five members of the Naperville Park District’s leadership team kicked off 2010 by participating in the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Institute. Six months later, they’re part of the first graduating class, honored on June 15 at a ceremony with other program participants at Naperville’s Holiday Inn Select.
Naperville Park District Leadership Institute graduates were:
• Sameera Luthman, Director of Marketing and Communications
• Ed Provow, Director of Golf
• Katie Sepe, Human Resources Manager
• Eric Shutes, Director of Planning
• Brad Wilson, Director of Recreation
The program participants were led through a comprehensive program comprised of educational sessions focusing on myriad topics and coaching sessions to reinforce concepts learned. Topics included: Goal Setting, Ethics and Values, Teamwork, Coaching Effectiveness, Strategic Thinking and more.
“I’m fortunate to have a great team of professionals on my staff, but I recognize that their success depends upon continuous learning,” explained Ray McGury, Executive Director of the Naperville Park District. “The Leadership Institute was a good opportunity for members of my leadership team to grow their individual skill sets as they continue to progress in their careers.”
