Naperville Park District announces special events at the Millennium Carillon
Art performances will take place immediately before the Summer Recitals

In addition to the 2009 Summer Recital Series taking place at the Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower on Tuesday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m., several additional special events are planned for the enjoyment of concert-goers.

The Special Events schedule is:
• June 16, Dancers from the Naperville Park District’s Concert Dance Ensemble will be performing from 6:30-7:00 p.m. before the Tuesday night Summer Recital Series concerts on June 16, June 30, July 14, August 4 and August 18
• July 4, Carillon Duets will be performed by Tim Sleep and Sue Bergren prior to fireworks display
• July 7, The Chorus of DuPage, a nonprofit men’s barbershop chorus with 50 members ranging in age from 20 to 90, will perform a variety of selections at 6:30 p.m.
• July 18, Carillon “Pops” Concert featuring stage and screen music will be performed by Tim Sleep at 7:00 p.m.
• July 21, Tim Sleep will perform a concert of calliope music. He will play an air-powered, Tangley circus calliope that was originally built for the travelling revival of the musical, Showboat. The calliope will be placed at the base of the tower on the performance plaza. The performance will take place at 6:30 p.m.
• August 22, Carillon “Pops” Concert featuring the music of Leroy Anderson will be performed by Tim Sleep at 7:00 p.m.
• November 11, Veteran’s Day program at 11:00 a.m.

The Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower and Visitor Center is located along the Naperville Riverwalk near Rotary Hill. Friday tours are available from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. through August 21. Saturday and Sunday tours are available through November 22 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Admission is $3 for ages 5 and older; children ages 4 and under are admitted free. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
