Wednesday, September 16, 2026

The Fort Hill Wellness Series continues with its next topic “Breast Health” on Wednesday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Hill Activity Center, located at 20 Fort Hill Drive.

As a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Irene Israel, a surgeon from Advocate Medical Group, will lead an hour-long discussion on breast health, including risk factors for breast cancer, the basics of breast cancer and its impact.

Breast cancer develops when a growth of cells forms a tumor in the breast tissue. It is the most common cancer in women in the United States besides skin cancers. Although it is rare, men can also be diagnosed with breast cancer.
